Diss tracks have become the new cool recently. For those of you who don’t know, a diss track is a song whose primary purpose is to verbally attack someone else, usually another artist. Diss tracks are often the result of an existing, escalating feud between the two people. In the course of constructing their argument, artists often include a wealth of references to past events and transgressions in their diss tracks, which listeners can dive into. Artists who are the subject of a diss track often make one of their own in response to the first.
It is this back-and-forth associated with a feud that makes this type of song particularly viral. This trend first started with “You Keep Her” (1962) by Joe Tex. He wrote the song after his wife left him for soul singer James Brown, who then broke up with her and wrote Tex a letter saying he could have her back. Tex refused and ridiculed this offer in his song. After that, diss tracks have become a popular trend to show beef between two people.
Diss tracks have become quite a thing in India now so let’s have a look at the Top 10 Diss Tracks that you should listen to.
Gaurav Pal aka. Muhfaad is an Indian Rapper who got into beef with Raftaar on some issues about not getting invited in a Rap show called MTV Hustle. Having long time personal relations with Raftaar didn’t stop him from making a diss track for Raftaar and his label KALAMKAR. Muhfaad released a track called “Happy Diwala” after which Raftaar and Muhfaad decided to connect over Instagram Live and sort out the issue. That instagram live did nothing to solve the problem. On the contrary it made clear that they both will not be working together.
Raga is a popular Indian rapper who released this diss track in favour of Kalamkaar and against Muhfaad for the ongoing beef. This track is very brutal and the rapper Raga had a lot of personal remarks for Muhfaad. This track was also shared by Raftaar when it was released.
Jahannum by Raga has gotten 1.1 million views in 1 year.
This track is released by G-One. This rapper is a Police Man in Jammu & Kashmir State of India. He got into beef with another rapper called Bhagat. The beef actually started off the Kalamkaar (Raftaar’s Label) vs KDM (American/Canadian Rapper Bohemia’s Label). G-One made this track in 5 hours. He got a lot of other rappers asking him to take this track down after its release but he kept it on his youtube channel for us to hear what he had to say in the track.
This track was released on January 21, 2021 and in 1 month the track has 51k Views.

Rap Demon’s Gauntlet 2.0 is a sequel of Gauntlet that he released 1 year before releasing this one. Unlike most other sequels, this one had all the qualities and references as the previous one. This track has a lot of great flow switches and some really brutal bars. This track happens to be the most popular song in desi hiphop scene when it got released and was comparable to 100 Bars of Talah Anjum.
Gauntlet 2.0 track now has 2.2 million views in Feb 2021.
This is a diss track from the beef which escalated hip-hop to different heights and made Emiway the biggest Independent Artist of India. This track was a diss to Raftaar, MC Stan, and Divine. Raftaar said a few things about Emiway in an interview. Things like, Emiway is not earning right now because Rap does not have that much recognition at the moment. This pissed off emiway and he made a diss track on it. Emiway dissed Divine because he called himself the biggest rapper in the Underground scene. And at last, Emiway dissed MC Stan because MC Stan dissed him first for making fun of him in a Cypher. This diss was made to mainly target Raftaar and Raftaar did reply to it.
This is the most viewed Indian Disstrack till now, It has over 111 Million Views with a length of 4 minutes and 42 seconds. This track and this beef changed the hip-hop scene in India.
This was Raftaar’s response to Emiway’s track. This track had an answer for each allegation Emiway made against Raftaar. In this track, Raftaar rapped about how he is disappointed by him, because, after all they did together, he dissed him for a statement which was not even hateful. In this, diss Raftaar showed his lyrical skills and talked about all the opportunities he gave Emiway and talked about their collaboration Sadak Remix, which they were going to release. This track has a length of 4 minutes and 12 seconds with over 96 million views. This track was important for the major growth of Desi hip-hop.
This was a diss to Emiway from Kr$na and it was a reply to the track of Emiway named Seedha Takeover. In Seedha Takeover, Emiway subliminally took shots at Kr$na and Kr$na came back with a hard track named Seedha Makeover. Smart isn’t it? This track surprised the audience because all the past beefs were not this lyrical and this track is just ruthless. Kr$na said what he knew would hurt the most. Kr$na even dragged Drax in this track as Drax and Emiway had a collab.
This was a diss track targeting Divine. We exactly do not know why EPR dissed Divine. But what the description of this suggests is that it was not a serious diss track. The description says that he dissed Divine to spice things up as Desi hip-hop was getting boring. Although Divine never replied to this track with a diss but he said in an interview that he liked it. So why not give it a shot?
This was a diss track against Emiway. The video concept was all about the fact that Emiway knows everything, and that he is getting dissed by everyone as the video is in a format of WhatsApp. Every text shows the lyrics have blue ticks which show that Emiway is reading and watching everything but he doesn’t have the guts to reply. When the song ends Divine “leaves” the chat which means that Emiway would not be able to reply to this diss track. I mean, how smart is this? In this track Divine showed pure technicality and puts allegations against Emiway by saying that he used to stick to his group just for fame and he still is not making pure hip-hop.
Talah Anjum from Young Stunners released this diss track on 18-Nov-2019 against Chen-K the Pakistani rapper and Sunny Khan Durani. This was his second diss track in the beef. He released a diss track titled Bhen-k. This is one of the most popular diss tracks in the desi hip-hop scene. It caught the eyes of a lot of people because not a lot of rappers try MONOTONE rap.
This diss track sits at 2.3 Million views in Feb 2021.
