4th Of July Themed Series- Must Watch For All Americans.

The 4th of July, we all know what that means for Americans right? Independence Day celebrations always mean family gatherings, picnics,barbecues with friends and neighbours, and lots of beautiful fireworks lighting up the night skies. Of course, the past two years have been rather quiet than you’re used to. I’m sure everyone’s a little bummed out that they can’t enjoy the 4th of July in full swing, but I’m hoping this list will alleviate a bit of that for everyone.

So if you’re staying at home, keeping the party to a small number of people, and watching the fireworks from your roof, I’ve  got a great list of 4th of July series to keep you entertained! 

1. Turn: Amazon Prime

Turn is an American series based on events from 1776 to 1781 and features a farmer from Setauket, New York, and his childhood friends. These group of friends form a group of spies called the Culper Ring which eventually helps turn the tide during the American Revolutionary War. The series begins in October 1776, shortly after the British recapture Long Island and the Port of New York for the Crown, and leave General George Washington’s army in dire straits. 

2. John Adams: Hulu

John Adams is a miniseries revolving around U.S President John Adams political life and his role in the founding of the US. It consists of events that depict the extraordinary life and times of one of America’s least understood, and most underestimated, 2nd president, John Adams. 

3. Band of Brothers: Hulu

This series tells the stories of Easy Company, 506th Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division, U.S. Army. It is based on interviews with survivors of the Easy Company as well as soldiers’ letters and journals. This series revolves around the experiences of these men. 

4. The Pacific: Hulu

The Pacific is based on accounts of Marines in World War II. It follows the journey of three U.S Marines from their first battle against Japan till their victory after V-J Day. It outlines the hardships of man during war. 

5. Jack Ryan: Amazon Prime

After the terrorist attacks on 9/11, Jack Ryan, studying at the London School of Economics, becomes a U.S. Marine fighting in Afghanistan, where his spine is critically injured when his helicopter is shot down. During the recovery, he meets Cathy Muller, the medical student helping him learn to walk again, and Thomas Harper, an official with the C.I.A. who recruits him. Ten years later, Ryan is working on Wall Street covertly for the C.I.A., looking for suspect financial transactions that would indicate terrorist activity. Now he has to figure out the what, where, and when.

6. SEAL Team: Hulu

        SEAL Team is a military drama that follows the lives of the most elite unit of Navy SEALs as they train, plan, and execute the most dangerous missions for the US. The SEAL team displays relentless patriotism and fearlessness even while facing the worst. 

7. The Unit: Amazon Prime

The Unit follows a team of Special Forces Operatives as they risk their lives on undercover missions around the world. The series focuses on a top-secret military unit modeled after the real-life U.S. Army special operations unit commonly known as Delta Force.

8. Six: Hulu

Six is a story about the members of a navy SEAL Team 6 who are given a mission to eliminate a Taliban leader in Afghanistan. Their mission becomes tougher once its discovered that an American citizen is working with the Taliban as a JIhadi fighter. 

9. Medal Of Honor: Netflix

This is a documentary series based on real life combat events and personal sacrifices that ultimately lead to being awarded the Medal Of Honor. The series combines footage, dramatic recreations and interviews with family members, historians and fellow veterans to tell each person’s unique experience that led to them achieving the Medal of Honor, America’s highest and most prestigious military decoration. 

10. The Looming Tower: Hulu

The Looming Tower covers the rising threat of Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda in the late ’90s and how a rivalry between the FBI and CIA during the time period may have inadvertently set the path for the attacks of 9/11. The series follows members of the I-49 Squad as they travel around the world, fighting for ownership of information while seemingly working toward a common goal of preventing an attack in the US.
